T20 victory over New Milton
OTR overcame a mid innings collapse to defeat New Milton by 3 wickets in a match which ebbed and flowed, either team having an interest in winning until the very end.
Having won the toss, New Milton made steady progress in accumulating 129 for 3 against neat, tidy and economical bowling. Stanley (41*) and Watts (25) were the main contributors.
Requiring little more than six an over, OTR got off to a flyer. George Watts (4 overs for just 12 runs) bowled beautifully in an effort to contain but found little support early on as a flurry of wides and boundaries saw OTR to 79-1 in their first seven overs. The unnecessary run out of Peter Newman (34 from 18 balls) triggered the fall of 5 wickets for 10 runs and put the outcome in doubt but little cameos from the George twins and Matt Bampton completed a far from comfortable victory.
