OTs & Romsey III (81 all out) beat Michelmersh & Timsbury (54 all out) by 27 runs
An extraordinary match at East Tytherley saw OTs & Romsey III take the derby day spoils by defeating Michelmersh & Timsbury, despite at one stage being an astounding 6-7.
The visitors won the toss and chose to put Romsey into bat first, which soon seemed liked a good idea with the hosts losing their first three batsman for ducks. Three more wickets then fell to leave Romsey with just six runs for the loss of seven wickets.
But then captain Mark Allen led the fightback for the hosts, as he hit 34. Callan Winstanley and Ali Perrin then made 15 and 13 respectively to guide Romsey to a total of 81 all out.
Tim Loescher was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors, as he took six wickets for just nine runs.
In reply, Michelmersh looked like they were set to cruise to victory after they hit 22 runs off the first two overs.
However, Romsey hit back and after Adrian Parsons fell for 14, no other Michelmersh batsman made double figures as Tim Slade and Charlie Evans ripped through the away side’s batting line-up, taking five wickets each to dismiss the visitors for just 54, earning Romsey a remarkable victory.
