Skipper Thebe won the toss and decided to make first use of the wicket, but Romsey lost a wicket in the 2nd over. This brought Salter to the middle and together with Hayes they began to gradually dominate the Dinton bowlers punishing any loose balls and rotating the strike well. Salter reached another fine century and was eventually out for 116, the pair putting on 204 for the 2nd wicket. Hayes continued scoring steadily until he was run out from a direct hit for a career high 87. Service(17*) and Mason(9*) took the score to 255-4 after their 42 overs. After tea Dinton began their reply but were soon in trouble losing 3 wickets in only 4 overs to J Trodd and the experienced Kay and never recovered from this with wickets falling regularly as Romsey attacked, only Coulson(33) showing much resistance for Dinton. They were eventually all out for just 64 with number 11 not batting through injury. Kay(5-38) Trodd(2-3) and R Wathen(2-18) taking the wickets, giving OTs and Romsey a big win by 191 runs.
