Andover III (148 all out) beat OTs & Romsey IV (54 all out) by 94 runs
An almighty batting collapse saw OTs & Romsey IV lose to Andover III by 94 runs, despite James Humphries’ incredible six wicket haul.
Romsey bowled first and with Humphries opening the bowling, the visitors were a threat from the outset. In his first spell, Humphries took four wickets to leave Andover struggling before tea.
However some resilience in the second half of their innings saw the hosts claw their way back into match, with one home batsman battling his way to a half century.
Kian O’Connor then took two wickets in response for Romsey before Humphires finished off his spell with his fifth and sixth wickets of the match to take him to 11 wickets for the season.
Cam Melling then picked up two wickets to bowl Andover all out for 148.
In reply, Romsey never looked like they were going to achieve their target, losing their openers cheaply. It was not until the seventh wicket partnership between Ieuan Wathen and Martin Kerridge-Weeks that the visitors put some pressure on the hosts’ bowling but when Kerridge-Weeks was unfortunately run out, the rest of Romsey’s line-up crumbled, leaving Wathen stranded on 26* and the visitors all out for 54.
