Burridge II (313-5) beat OTs & Romsey II (307-5) by five wickets
OTs & Romsey II travelled to Burridge II where unbeaten century from Paul Longland was not enough to prevent a high-scoring five wicket defeat.
Romsey batted first and got off to a good start with openers Max Smith and Elliot Mitchell-Lee scoring runs quickly. Eventually, Smith was bowled for 24 before Mitchell-Lee was run out after hitting an impressive half-century.
However, this was only the start of free-flowing run scoring antics as Paul Longland was then brought to the crease. Supported by Richard Lake who hit 46, Longland smashed his way to 120* as he guided Romsey to a very imposing total of 307-5.
In reply, it looked like the hosts had no chance of victory with Steve Kay picking up four early wickets to leave them on 70-4. Matt Bampton then picked up a wicket which saw Iain Hardcastle and Steve Jackson at the crease for the hosts.
The pair went on to fire Burridge to an unlikely victory. Whatever the Romsey bowlers threw at the batsmen, it was dispatched as the pair shared a 200-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Hardcastle ended on 134* with Jackson ending on 92* as Burridge won by five wickets.
