OTs and Romsey 5ths entertained Andover 4ths on Saturday who were fielding only 9 players.
Romsey batted first and lost D Thebe in the 4th over for a brisk 13. This brought youngster J Trodd to the wicket and together with Hayes they were soon attacking the Andover bowling. The pair put on 112 runs, J Trodd scoring a maiden fifty in mens cricket before being caught for a fine 61. Hayes then passed fifty for the 2nd time this season before he was out for 53. Service made 18 and S Trodd and A Danson 8 apiece, and then a further injection of pace from A Perrin(34) and P Menage(22*) in the last few overs took Romsey to a healthy 246-7 at tea. In reply Andover lost a wicket in the first over from A Perrin and this brought about a procession of wickets for the 2 Romsey opening bowlers, Andover putting up little resistance . Perrin(3-15) and young J Humphries(4-14) carved their way through the Andover innings with fine accurate bowling, only Ingram(11) making double figures for Andover. It was left to the returning R Wathen to bowl the last batsman with his first ball leaving Andover all out for just 31 in only 10.1 overs, giving OTs and Romsey a huge win by a margin of 215 runs and an early finish.
