Child Welfare Child Welfare and Protection Policy
In accordance with the club Constitution, the duly appointed Child Protection Officer shall be responsible for maintaining the Standards of the Club that require that all children shall be safe.
Standards of the club will be achieved through ensuring:
a) Development of awareness of the issues which lead to children being harmed
b) Safe recruiting procedures for volunteers/coaches
c) Provision of training for Coaches/Volunteers. (Attendance at suitable courses)
d) Application of codes of behaviour for children/young people.
e) Application of codes of behaviour for parents.
f) Application of good/safe playing practices.
g) Establishment of procedures for dealing with/recording of complaints/accidents.
h) Identification and maintenance of parental responsibilities.
i) Availability of information.
j) An induction document for parents, coaches, children will be made available clearly outlining the rights and responsibilities.
k) Regular review and monitoring of child protection procedures by the Management Committee.
l) All children are treated equally.
The Club fully endorses the policy as publshed by the ECB in “Safe Hands” and the Old Tauntonians and Romsey Cricket Club Management Committee will use its best endeavours to ensure that all members follow and adhere to same wherever possible.
Copies of this document are held by the Child Protection Officer and a copy is available in the Clubhouse.
